Device for feeding a document in a printer, comprising means F1-F4, R2, R3 for frictionally feeding of documents at feeding points situated as well upwards as downwards of the printing position of the printing head, as seen along the path of movement of the documents, whereby feeding takes place along a certain width of the document or at at least two points at a distance from each other crosswise to the direction of motion of the document, at both the upper and the lower feeding points. At each feeding point, adjustable pressing rolls P1-P4 are found, which are adjustable to press against or be disengaged from an inserted document, such that driving of the document takes place or does not take place at the feeding points. The pressing rolls are adjustable, and the driving at the feeding points is controllable by means of incorporated control means A4, A5, CA4, CA5, CW1, M2 in dependency of supplied information regarding document type or desired printing area on the document. <IMAGE> |
