PURPOSE:To provide a smooth internal surface to a ceramic cylinder, simply and surely, by rotating the ceramic cylinder with an abrasive material hermetically confined in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A granular or liquefied abrasive mateial 2 is contained in a ceramic cylinder to a degree of 1/10 to 1/2 of the capacity of the ceramic cylinder 1. The opening of the ceramic cylinder 1 is plugged by a rubber cap 3 etc.. The cylinder 1 is then revoluted on a rotating table so as to polish the internal surface. Instead of the cap 3 plugged into the cylinder 1, it may be possible to rotate the cylinder with the latter being disposed in a container in close contact relation maintained therebetween. |
