1383759 Transparent polyamides HOECHST AG 8 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 57068/71 Heading C3R Transparent polyamides are derived from a bis (aminomethyl) tricyclo-decane and a C 5-20 saturated aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and/or a C 7-20 aromatic dicarboxylic acid. Optional further comonomers are aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic diamines of up to 20 carbon atoms providing not more than 50 mol. per cent of total diamine and aminoacids of up to 20 carbon atoms providing not more than 50 wt. per cent of the polyamide. Various such monomers are specified. The essential diamine may be prepared as described in Specification 1,191,839. The polymers may be injection moulded.
