PURPOSE:To composition, obtained by incorporating a terpolymer of an ethylene- vinyl ester copolymer with vinyl chloride with a phosphoric ester, aluminum hydroxide and a flame retardant assistant, having flexibility, and capable of giving a plug having improved spark flame retardancy. CONSTITUTION:70wt% or more vinyl chloride is grafted onto an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer with a combined vinyl ester content of 20wt% or more to give a terpolymer. 100pts.wt. resultant terpolymer is then incorporated with 40pts.wt. or less phosphoric ester, 20pts.wt. or less aluminum hydroxide and 0.5-20pts.wt. flame retardant assistant. Tricresyl phosphate, etc. may be preferred as the phosphoric ester, and the combined vinyl ester content up to about 60wt% in the ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer is effective. EFFECT:No ignition due to the poor connection of inner metallic fittings of a plug, etc. |
