PURPOSE:To form an image high in contrast and low in backgroupd density with high fixation sensitivity, by adding a specified photosensitizer to a basic substance- producing layer containing a Co (III) amine complex or the like, and reducing said complex in an excited state. CONSTITUTION:A compound capable of absorbing a radiation longer in wavelength than 300nm and reducing a Co (III) amine or amine complex, such as hematoporphyrin or 1,1'-diethyl-2,2'-carbocyanine iodate, in an excited state is used as a photosensitizer. A base-producing layer containing said complex and said photosensitizer in 10:1-1,000:1 ratio, an interlayer, and a color-developing layer containing aminotriarylmethane as a color developing agent constitute a 3-layer light and heat sensitive recording material. Addition of this photosensitizer permits a sharp image low in heat fog and easy in image formation to be obtained. |
