PURPOSE:To surely stop a running object to its start position in use of the slit exposure scanning device or the like of a copying machine, by arranging a permanent magnet and resiliently damping member to a sliding member in a stopper device and combining the running object returning at high speed in a state while being damped to the sliding member. CONSTITUTION:A sliding member 54 is slidably mounted to the end part of a guide shaft 15, and a coil spring 55 is inserted between a flange part 54a at the left side of said member 54 and supporting member 53. There are secured a permanent magnet 57 to the right end part of the sliding member 54 and an iron piece 58 to the first carriage 12 located at a face-to-face position to said member 54. The first carriage 12, when returning from the right side direction, collides against the sliding member 54 through the permanent magnet 57 and is combined. Then the first carriage 12 is both damped by the coil spring 55 and press returned by its restoring power, then stopped to its start position by adapting the flange part 54a to a stopper 56. In this way, the running object can be damped at its stopping and surely performed its positioning. |
