<p>PURPOSE:To prevent formation of an indistinct picture without providing a large capacity memory, by executing a developing treatment of an electrostatic latent image whose development is not treated yet before the potential of a picture carrier drops, and also returning the surface potential of a dropped picture carrier. CONSTITUTION:A beltlike picture carrier 1 moves intermittently, is treated by an electric charger, an arraylike exposure device 6, a developing device 7, etc., and stops when an exposure signal from the device 6 is discontinued. When this discontinued period exceeds a prescribed period before the potential of the carrier 1 drops, the carrier 1 moves by a prescribed extent by a motor 4, and a latent image, whose development is not treated yet, of an area J of the carrier 1 is brought to a developing treatment clearly. Subsequently, when a signal comes to be supplied to the device 6, the carrier 1 is shifted in reverse, and also an ionic current and an optical irradiation by corona discharge of an auxiliary discharger 19 and an auxiliary charger 18 are detected. As a result, the potential of the dropped area I, etc. of the carrier 1 is released without exerting influence on the picture. Accordingly, an indistinct part due to drop of the potential is not generated in the picture formed on the whole surface of transcription paper 13, without using a large capacity memory.</p> |
