<p>The bicycle has levers pivoted at the rear wheel axle to give a variable drive transmission without a dead centre point. Each lever has two pinions on a common axis parallel to the pivot axis of the leaves. One of the pinions rotates with the rear wheel of the bicycle. The other pinion meshes with a toothed profile rack fixed, directly or indirectly (and possibly pivotally) on a variable axis, on the bicycle frame. The two pinions are connected by a one way free wheel. The variable rack axis can have variable position support arms and a variable support anchor point.</p> |
