Cast concrete building module - has floor and walls and uses upright mould with shutters to all faces except top wall edges

The casting process is used to make a building module comprises of a floor and walls in lightweight concrete. The unit is cast upright and all faces but the top horizontal wall edges are shuttered. Initially superimposed horizontal panels (1,2) are positioned, held apart by spacer rails (5), to form the floor slab. Internal wall shutters (4) are fixed to the top floor shutter (2), embedded spacer posts (6) are fixed, and finally the outer wall shutters (7) are positioned. Overhead beams (9) are attached to the internal shutters (4) and the unit is ready for the concrete pour. The module may be polygonal in plan.
