PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a plane camber in a metallic sheet material when it is subjected to an edging process, by shifting a roll pair of a vertical roll stand, arranged on the runout side of a horizontal roll stand standing as the last stand in the rolling direction at that time, transversely to the lower temperature side as much as an amount corresponding to the transverse temperature difference in the metallic sheet material. CONSTITUTION:A rolling work is applied to a metallic sheet material for reducing its breadth and thickness; for this purpose, a rolling mill line is constituted of a vertical roll stand V1, a horizontal roll stand H and a vertical roll stand V2, and the rolling work is performed in the direction of an arrow mark X. In this case, if the transverse distribution of temperature in the rolled material shows that the temperature on the driving side DS is relatively higher than the working side SW, the vertical roll pair of the stand V2, standing on the downstream side in the rolling direction, is shifted from a roll position shown by the dotted lines to a roll position shown by the full line, while keeping the vertical roll gap as it is, as far as a distance l to the working side WS that is the lower temperature side. As a result, any camber is not generated in the rolled material.
|
