The cross sleepers to mount lengths of strip, for mixed use by vehicles with rubber-tyred wheels and rail-bound vehicles guided by wheel flanges, are provided in a wooden-shaped track. To provide mounting surfaces, use is made of a frame structure (10), incorporating a running assembly with flanged wheels (11). This has one or more planing or milling cutters (12) attached to it adjustable up and down, and sideways.
