The invention relates to an apparatus for the manufacture of slats for a blind, the apparatus having, inter alia, an ejector for the finished slats. At high production rates, there is a high risk that slats, especially those which are relatively narrow and/or relatively thin will be damaged when ejected by an ejector. Other disadvantages of the known ejectors are the technical outlay and space which have hitherto been required. To avoid these disadvantages, the invention proposes that the ejector has a pivoted arm arranged in the vicinity of the drive shaft, this pivoted arm being pivotable about an axis parallel to the drive shaft and the slat undergoing processing being located in its pivoting range, and that an actuating element mounted on the drive shaft and rotating with the latter pivots the pivoted arm in such a way in the ejecting direction after production of the slat that the increase in speed is limited to a predetermined value, at least in the first part of the ejecting movement.
