The hydraulic clamp is intended for the blades of a gang saw. It is supplied by a pump via a detachable pipe coupling, the clamp half of which contains a non-return valve opened on coupling up. A stop valve is mounted between this half and the clamp. The pipe (24) between the stop valve (18,20) and the clamp half (22) of the coupling (21) has a sliding component (25) increasing the pipe volume, typically a screw. A storage vessel for the pump hydraulic fluid can be air tightly sealed and has a flexible bellows (26) for any air expelled from it by the hydraulic flow.
