<p>One end of the wire is secured to a lever pivoted at one end of the process cylinder and operated by an offset pin on its other end. The lever pulls the tensioned wire against the edge of the drum, against the direction of rotation to lift the corner of the copy sheet. The lever is released soon after and the sheet peels off the roller without daming the toner image. The lifter is simple and operates mechanically with the rotation of the process drum. It only touches the edge of the drum and one corner of the copy sheet. A return spring on the operating lever and a spring on the wire align the lifter without further adjustment required. The wire is non magnetic and anti-static so that it does not pick up stray toner.</p> |
