The device comprises a twisting unit provided with a duct (15) traversed by the filaments to be twisted and in which they are twisted by a gas jet coming coming out of a nozzle. In order to obtain higher feed speeds for the filaments at the twisting points, the nozzle is a Laval tuyere (20) of which the axis is oblique or perpendicular to the axis of the duct (15).
