PURPOSE:To convert a two-dimensional vector information into one-dimensional vector information at a high speed and by a small capacity, by converting a picture information of plural traffic lanes into a one-dimensional information along a traffic lane of each traffic lane extracting a feature signal by space differentiation in the traffic lane axial direction, and utilizing all the information of a beltlike area. CONSTITUTION:A reference element designated in advance to vector of an input pattern 1A is stored in a reference element memory part 24, the pattern 1A is gated by a gate 10 in accordance with a designating information outputted by the memory part 24, and the partial vector is converted to a scalar quantity b1 by an operation part 11. Also, the scalar quantity b1 and b1+j, converted by the operation part 11 are stored temporarily in analog memories 14, 15, a difference between said scalar quantity b1 and b1+j is taken, and a delaying circuit 18 which makes 1 ''1'' in case of exceeding a threshold level set in advance, and ''0'' in other case, a differential circuit 19 and a comparing circuit 20 are provided. In this way, each circuit is controlled by a control part 22, only an area is extracted by a reference element of the pattern 1A, designated in advance, and a two-dimensional vector information is converted to a one-dimentional vector information. |
