PURPOSE:To heat and anneal a strip efficiently, by disposing burners so that the burning gas turns enclosing the steel strip to be annealed forming a free loop in a vertical direction inside a vertical furnace. CONSTITUTION:The steel strip 4 is charged through a slit-shaped charging port into the furnace and heated and annealed forming a free loop in the furnace combustion burners 7, 8, 9, 10 are chiposed being opposed to each other with the strip 4 interposed between them in a horizontal direction and at an interval density corresponding to the heating rate and uniform temperature of the strip 4 in a vertical direction so that the burning gas turns at an equal distance from the both sides of the strip 4. |
