The mechanism is intended for introducing a liquid additive into a petrol engine fuel supply. The additive enters into the intake manifold upstream of the carburettor throttle valve, and mixing is completed in the inlet duct downstream of that throttle. The additive may consist of water with a small amount of ethanol containing camphor, double-ring mono-terpenic hydrocarbons (e.g. camphene) or aldehydes of mono-terpenic ketones. The amount of additive is controlled by a throttle valve coupled to the carburettor throttle. A bladed rotor (41) arranged at the entry to the inlet duct produces strong turbulence resulting in a homogeneous three-component mixt.
|
