<p>The protective system is for a rotary bottle-processing machine having a frame on the outside with one or more openings enclosed by uprights and a common top cross-member, together with a plate for each opening. The plate is guided in the uprights, and moves up and down with the aid of a counterweight in one of them, attached to it by a rope reeved round a pulley in the cross-member. Each plate (20) is in front and clear of the uprights (18) and cross-member (19) of its respective opening, and in its lowermost position has its top edge level with the cross-member. Where there is a single opening, the plate extends between the outermost edges of the uprights. Where there are more than one, the plates extend to the centre lines of the intermediate supports, there being a narrow gap between each two adjacent plates.</p> |
