Friction roller for a roller conveyor track with drive on one side, the cover pipe of which has its bearing at both ends on a rigid axle through one rotating bearing each. The friction roller has a clutch element on the drive side end with its bearing on the axle through ball bearings. A second clutch element (3) has a rotatable bearing on the axle (1) with a ball bearing system (5) on which the rotating bearing located away from the drive and made as a friction rotating bearing is located. This second clutch element has a non turnable connection with the first clutch element (2) by a torsion pipe (10) positioned co-axial to the axle (1).
