METAL VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent the crack of the luminous tube of a metal vapor discharge lamp near its electrodes and extend its life, by arranging on the ends of the luminous tube enclosed metal collectors made of metallic wire hard to melt and with the diameter smaller than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A luminous tube 1 is made by sealing up both ends of an alumina porcelain cylinder 10 with alumina porcelain plug 2 pierced through by electrode leads fitted with electrodes 4 on their tips and enclosing sodium as a luminous metal and mercury and xenon as a buffer gas. Enclosed metal collectors 7 made of metallic wire hard to melt and with the diameter less than 0.4mm.phi are fixed to enclosed end side cores of the electrodes 4 respectively.
