PURPOSE:To enhance the whiteness, thermal stability, and high speed recording characteristics, by a method wherein, in a thermal recording material wherein a color reaction of a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color developer is used, methyl p-nitrobenzoate is incorporated in a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:Methyl p-nitrobenzoate is incorporated in a thermal recording layer, whereby a thermal recording material using a hot-melt substance is enhanced in thermal stability, and improved in recording sensitivity. In the application to a plastic film by using an organic solvent as a dispersion medium, the low solubility of the methyl p-nitrobenzoate in the organic solvent prevents the deterioration of the whiteness from occurring. The use amount of the benzoate is not necessarily limited, however desirably being adjusted to be generally in the range of 1-500 pts.wt., preferably the order of 5-300 pts.wt., to 100 pts.wt. of a color developer. |
