<p>Material, either self supporting over a table, or on a lower conveyor belt, is pressed by an upper conveyor belt running parallel and at the same speed, the pressure being exerted by air on water through perforations in the front walls of flat pressure chambers behind the belt(s) or below the table. Simple, cheap method of uniform pressure application at desired feed speeds. Belts of magnetic material, subjected to varied excitation, may be used instead of the externally applied pressure system.</p> |
