PURPOSE:To improve the positional stability between panel members and to form a display panel with no unevenness in thickness by using columnar metallic oxide having a specified aspect ratio as a spacer. CONSTITUTION:Columnar (hexagonal prismatic or cylindrical) metallic oxide 5 having 2-5 aspect ratio (ratio of length/distance between opposite sides, l/d) is used as a spacer between panels 1a, 1b. Said metallic oxide includes alumina particles manufactured by adding a prescribed small amount of an additive such as boron to alumina hydrate as starting material. |
