PURPOSE:To shorten the working time remarkably by obtaining an LED having a light diffused layer with a single resin injection in molding through light scattering substance mixed into the resin. CONSTITUTION:An LED chip 2 is mounted in a die 1 and a pair of electrodes 3 connected is suspended and retained. After mixed with a light scattering substance 5 such as glass powder with a high light transmissivity and larger in the specific gravity, an epoxy resin 4 fills the die 1. When the substance 5 is settled completely, the mixture is heated to harden and the die is released to complete. An LED thus molded provides a light diffused layer 7 in which the light scattering substance gathers on the light emitting side thereof and a transparent resin section 8 in the other part. Application of acryl silan on the surface of the light scattering substance causes a cloudness in a chemical reaction with the resin during the hardening by heat, thereby enhacing light scattering effect remarkably, combining the reflection of light and the refraction of the glass. As the light scattering substance concentrates on the light emitting surface with the settlement, the product is so transparent to eliminate loss from the light source to the light emitting surface free from joint thereby assuring a high light emitting efficiency without reflection. |
