PAPER FEEDER OF COPYING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage due to an erroneous operation, by providing a copying machine with a detecting apparatus that will abut against a part of an open lid when a paper feeding cassette has been mounted with the lid opened thereby the paper feeding operation is carried out according to its detected signal. CONSTITUTION:The opening lid 11b of the paper feeding cassette 10 is opened, copy papers 24 are introduced, and it is inserted in a paper feeding cassette mounting table 14 to be mounted. When it reaches a prescribed position, the open lid 11b engages with the paper feeding cassette open lid detector 15 to be stopped. At this time, though the open lid 11b is pushed by the paper feeding cassette detector 15, the open lid 11b would not be dismounted, because a fixed lid 11b integral with the open lid 11b is fixed to a paper feeding cassette body 10. An original paper 19 is fed through feed rollers 21, 22, and the tip of it is detected by a paper feeding switch 23. A paper feeding roll 16 is usually at the position shown by a dotted line, but when the open lid 11b engages the paper feeding cassette open lid detector 15, the paper feeding roller 16 is lowered to the position shown by the solid line by a signal from the paper feeding cassette open lid detector 15 and a signal from the paper feeding switch 23, and is rotated in the direction shown by the arrow to deliver one of the copy papers 24, which will be lapped with the original paper 19 and passed via rolls 17, 18 to the copying machine body.
