PURPOSE:To obtain stationary pictures of excellent qualities, by repeatedly recording a picture signal of the same frame on a running tape and reproducing the picture signal with a reproducing head. CONSTITUTION:Since a tape 11 wound around a reel 12 is run while it is extracted through a tape extracting window 13 along with the rotation of a capstan 15, recordings and reproducings are performed at a head mechanism section 14. Moreover, a recording head 18 is installed to the reel 12 so that the head contacts with the tape 11 rotating around the reel 12, and a reproducing head 19 is also installed at a location at a prescribed distance from the head 18. In the stationary picture reproducing mode, a picture signal of one frame reproduced at the head mechanism 14 is repeatedly recorded on a specified track on the tape 11 by the head 18. Then, the reproducing head 19 traces this track successively, and, therefore, a stationary picture of an excellent quality is obtained. |
