PURPOSE:To obtain a thin metallic film type magnetic recording medium having magnetic-head touch, improved running properties and shelf life, etc., by using as a substrate a polyester drawn film having a specific surface state. CONSTITUTION:Both the sides of a polyester uniaxially drawn film are coated with a composite for a cross-linkable macromolecule, such as epoxy resin, and after a drying and hardening treatment, a redrawing treatment is carried out to obtain a polyester drawn film which holds on the surface a cross-linked macromolecular thin film having finely corrugated or granularly divided unevenness. On one uneven surface of the film, an alloy ferromagnetic thin film is formed and on the other, a lubricant containing macromolecular thin film consisting of a lubricant and a binder is provided. |
