PURPOSE:To obtain a high frequency window for microwave tube which has the excellent reflecting properties, small loss of transmission and no danger for high frequency discharge, by reducing the thickness of the window part of a coaxial waveguide consisting of an inner conductor and an outer conductor excepting the area near the fringe of a dielectric disk piercing through the inner conductor less than the fringe part. CONSTITUTION:A coaxial waveguide consists of an outer conductor 1 and an inner conductor 2, and a dielectric disk 3' piercing through the conductor 2 is inserted into the window part of the waveguide. Then a vacuum part 8 is enclosed by the conductors 1 and 2 at the inner side of the waveguide, and at the same time another vacuum part 9 is formed in the same way at the downstream side of the waveguide. In such constitution, the thickness is increased at the fringe part of the disk 3', and the areas excepting the fringe part is recduced. Then metallized layers 6 and 7 are coated at the large-thickness parts touching the conductors 1 and 2 respectively. In such way, a window having no reflection nor loss can be formed without imparing the airtightness and causing any danger for high frequency discharge. |
