PURPOSE:To improve operability of subscanning and, at the same time, to generate picture signals which give excellent pictures, by constituting the main body and the guide part of a reader in one body so that the main body is moved freely along the direction of subscanning. CONSTITUTION:The main body A and the guide part B are formed in one body so that the main body moves along the direction of subscanning, by fitting an image forming optical system 2, a solid line message sensor 3 and a timing pulse generating section 4 to the inside of a box 1, and engaging projections 1a and 1b projected from the bottom of the box 1 of the main body provided with an illuminating lamp into engaging grooves 7 and 8 installed on the guide part B. Therefore, the main body A is not tilted against the optical axis of the image forming optical system even when the main body is moved along the direction of subscanning, and picture signals which always generate excellent pictures can be obtained. Moreover, since the whole body is formed in one body, the operability is excellent. |
