The space ventilation system incorporates an air-conditioning unit whose outlet is connected to a set of air conduits discharging air from the roof downwards, the air being then extracted via a further set of conduits under the floor. The roof is divided into sections, the air supply to which can be individually shut off. The air is delivered through each section via a series of slots round the edges and a main outlet between them, the air velocity out of the slots being greater than that from the main outlet. The floor can likewise be divided into sections which can be individually shut off from the extraction conduit system.
