In a slow decarbonation of water, the calcium compounds contained in the water are converted into CaCO3 by addition of an alkaline-reacting precipitant and passing through a reaction section, and CaCO3 is precipitated out after addition of a flocculant. Before passing through the reaction section, a finely divided crystalline material is added at least at times. This is preferably obtained by, even before addition of the flocculant, allowing part of the CaCO3 formed to settle and withdrawing it and adding it to the incoming water in feedback. |
