<p>The installation is intended for blanching (i.e. partly boiling) animal or vegetable food. It comprises a liq. filled container with a loading and an unloading station and a continuously driven endless conveyor which emerges above the liq. level adjacent to these stations and follows a curved path(around roller 8) to return below that level. The conveyor emerges above this level at one point only which lies outside the container, and the loading station is arranged adjacent to the point where one part of the conveyor re-enters the liq. whilst the unloading station is near the point where its other part emerges therefrom. The proximity of the loading and unloading stations, which are both arranged near the same end of the container, permits this to be very compact, thus reducing total vol. occupied, inital cost (as installation is usually in stainless steel), and insulation requirements.</p> |
