A fixed tubular support carries a cross piece on the ends of which are mounted guide tubes, parallel with the tubular support, and through which selvedge yarns pass. Pulleys supporting an endless belt are mounted concentrically around the guide tubes, and distributing tubes through which weft yarn is fed are carried on the drive belt so that as the belt is driven the weft yarns are helically wound around the selvedge yarns. Pref. the weft yarns are wound onto helical springs which are fixed to the end of the guide tubes and the springs are rotated to advance the weft yarn on the selvedge yarns. The arrangement uses a single drive motor, and does not vibrate, thereby producing a better formed net fabric. |
