1369587 Pallets; pallet loads WILKIE & PAUL Ltd 8 Sept 1971 [9 Sept 1970] 43052/70 Headings B8H and B8C A pallet on which a number of rows of articles are stacked is formed from a rectangular cardboard blank comprising integrally connected sections 1 to 13 which are defined by scored lines, Fig. 1 (not shown), which permit the said sections to be folded to form a pallet base portion defined by sections 3, 7, 11 together with two recesses formed by the sections 4, 5, 6, and 8, 9, 10 for reception of the tines of a fork lift truck, the sections 2, 12 forming side walls extending upwardly along the rows of articles which are stacked on the pallet, the sections 1, 13 extending in between the rows of articles thus fastening the pallet to the stack of articles to form a palletized unit. A bag of polythene sheet material (not shown) is then drawn downwardly over the formed unit and is shrinkwrapped around it, the bottom of the bag extending below and around the lower peripheral edge of the pallet base portion. If desired an additional polythene sheet can be provided either on the upper or lower surfaces of the pallet prior to the articles being stacked thereon, the bag of polythene sheet material being heat-sealed to the said additional polythene sheet. |
