<p>Guard panels comprising parallel profiles supported from one end by posts and bridged by a sheet of glass or polymethylmethacrylate or similar where the upper edge of the sheet is wrapped closely over its supporting profile and the lower edge of the sheet is either wrapped about or slotted into the lower profile. Pref. the profiles have a hollow section and very to suit end-to-end mountings, corner mountings, etc. The panels may be formed directly about the profiles or pre-formed and shrink set onto the profiles if these are heat sensitive, e.g. polyamide-coated steel or anodised Al. The faces of the sheets may be embossed or thermoformed to obtain decorative/stiffening ribs. The construction allows free relative thermal expansion between the panels and the supports, yet can withstand impact. Sheets may alternatively comprise glass fibre reinforced polyester, polycarbonate, PVC or similar.</p> |
