PURPOSE:To prepare an edible oil having cholesterol lower action or suppressing action on rise in cholesterol, by adding a fraction obtained from corn oil eluted with a solvent having a solubility parameter delta>=7.5 to an edible oil. CONSTITUTION:After corn oil is diluted in an organic solvent, the diluted oil is cooled to -30--90 deg.C, and a coagulated solid fraction is removed to give a nonsolidifying substance in the organic solvent, which is subjected to column chromatography. Hydrocarbons of tocopherols, terpense, etc. are eluted using a solvent having a solubility parameter delta<7.5, and a fraction is soluted with a solvent having a solubility parameter delta>=7.5 from the residue fraction. 0.4wt% or more based on total amount of the prepared fraction is added to >=60wt% one or more of corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, cotton seed oil, to prepare an edible oil. |
