PURPOSE:To prepare a novel antibiotic substance SF-2103A substance, having beta- lactamase inhibiting activity and exhibiting synergistic antibacterial activity by the combined use with a beta-lactam antibiotic substance, by culturing actinomyces belonging to Streptomyces genus. CONSTITUTION:A novel microbial species belonging to Streptomyces genus, Streptomyces sulfonofaciens SF-2103 (FERM-P No.5636), is inoculated in a nutrient medium. and cultured under aerobic conditions. The objective novel antibiotic substance, SF-2103A substance, or its salt, can be separated from the cultured product. |
