A machine for producing wrinkles in a continuously moving web of sheet material comprises one or more sets of feeding mechanisms for the sheet material cooperating with a pair of semi-circular sinuously slotted dies, one of the dies being fixed and the other being moved in an orbital circular path transverse to the plane of the fixed die but spaced from it and without altering its angular relationship thereto.
