<p>PURPOSE:To permit a main thyristor to turn on and off regardless of the magnitude of supply voltage, by using a self-turn off thyristor as the main thyristor. CONSTITUTION:A self-turn off thyristor 11 is used for a thyristor chopper 17 performing chopper control for the armature 7 current of a series motor. In this case, the turn off circuit 16 in the self-turn off thyristor 11 uses the same power source for the control circuit for an electric motor vehicle, accordingly, the current in the main thyristor 11 can be turned of and off even if the power source is switched.</p> |
