PURPOSE:To promote digestive absorption and to prevent disease, by adding a fatty acid salt of a basic amino acid to a feed or drinking water for an animal. CONSTITUTION:A fatty acid salt of a basic amino acid is an amino acid having an amino group, a carboxyl group, and at least one basic substituent group, e.g., amino group, guanidino group, imidazolyl group, etc. in the molecule, includes D-form, L- form, and DL-form, and about 6-24C fatty acid is usually used as the fatty acid. A method wherein the basic amino acid is neutralized with a fatty acid in the absence of a solvent preferably in the presence of both water and an organic solvent at room temperature or under heating, etc. is applied. The fatty acid salt of the basic amino acid exhibits effects by itself, and can be arbitarily used together with other kind of an emulsifying agent and a surface active agent. |
