PURPOSE:To grasp the progress of time without looking at the time display of a clock, thereby preventing oversleeping, by causing the alarm clock to sound a proper alarm message corresponding to the number of operation of a snooze mechanism. CONSTITUTION:This voice alarm clock consists of an alarm clock T having a snooze function and a voice synthesizer section SY, which is operated by the alarm signal (a) and snooze signal (b) and which edits message elements such as melodies and words stored beforehand in the compressed parameter ROM 17 by the editor circuit 14 to synthesize at 21 the waveforms of the alarm message. A counter circuit 15 which counts the number of operations of a snooze mechanism is provided at the editor section 27, and the output of this counter circuit is used to control the editor circuit 14 and cause the clock to sound at 23 a proper alarm message which corresponds to the number of operations of the snooze mechanism. This arrangement makes it possible to grasp the number of operations of the snoooze mechanism, namely, to grasp the progress of time, without looking at the time display on the clock, thereby preventing oversleeping. |
