PURPOSE:To prepare a perfumery composition by using a glycidic acid ester containing a norbornane ring having an epoxy group bonded directly thereto, as ative component. CONSTITUTION:The objective perfumery composition contains a glycidic acid ester of formula I (R1 is 1-11C alkylidene or 2-11C alkenyl; the dotted line represents the double bond when R1 is alkylidene; R2 is H or 1-7C alkyl; R3 is 1-5C alkyl). The compound of formula I is pref. the compound of formula II, e.g. spiro[3-ethyl- 3-ethoxycarbonyloxirane-2,2'-(5'-vinylnorbornane)], the compound of formula III, e.g. spiro[3-ethyl-3-ethoxycarbonyloxirane-2,2'-(5'-ethylidenenorbornane)], etc. The compound of formula I has woody flavor as a basic tone, and can be used as a base of various perfumes, cosmetics, flavoring components, deodorants, etc. |
