<p>are prepd. by (i) dehydrocyanation of 1,2,4-tricyanobutane or (ii) isomerisation of 2-methylene glutaronitrile. 2-methylene glutaronitrile may be reacted with HCN to give the 1,2,4-tricyanobutane starting material for (i). All reactions are carried out in the presence of a basic catalyst. The butenes are adiponitrile precursors, useful in Nylon 6,6 prepn.</p> |
