A cheap glue for laminates contains (a) 100 pts. wt. of a phenol-HCHO resin (40-50% as dry matter), (b) 40-70 pts. of a powdered filler, (c) 15-40 pts. of water, and (d) 0.5-5 pts. of oil. The dry matter is pref. 43-45%. The filler esp. consists of 7-10 pts. of wheat flour, 15-25 pts. of chalk, and 15-30 pts. of woody material. Mineral oils, opt. used engine or hydraulic oils, can be used. Claimed compsns. contain: (i) 100 pts. of phenol-HCHO resin with 43% dry matter, 8 pts. of wheat flour, 27 pts. of olive husks, 18 pts. of chalk, 25 pts. of water, and 3 pts. of drained engine oil, and (ii) 100 pts. of phenol-HCHO resin with 45% dry matter, 10 pts. of wheat flour, 23 pts. of olive husks, 23 pts. of chalk, 23 pts. of water, and 2 pts. of drained engine oil. The compsn. contains more water than usual. Wash-waters or polluted water can be used. The viscosity is stable, without the addn. of NaOH. Wetting of the surface to be laminated is better. There is less penetration of the glue into the glued surface. The redn. in cost is 15-30%. The amt. of phenolic resin is reduced by 20-30%.
|
