PURPOSE:To attain superior workability by subjecting a steel contg. a prescribed amount of C, Mn, Si and S to hot finish rolling and cooling under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of 0.04-0.15% C, 0.5-2.0% Mn, 0.5-2% Si, <=0.005% S and the balance Fe is subjected to hot finish rolling in the ferrite- austenite 2-phase region below the Ar3 point. After the passage of 3-7sec, the rolled steel plate is cooled by pouring water. The average cooling rate is >=30 deg.C/ sec, and the plate rapidly cooled to <=150 deg.C is coiled. |
