NEW MATERIAL:Glycidic esters of formula I (R1 is 1-11C alkylidene, 2-11C alenyl; the dotted line means a double bond, when R1 is alkylidene group; R2 is H, 1-7C alkyl; R3 is 1-5C alkyl). EXAMPLE:Spiro[3-ethyl-3-ethoxycarbonyloxysilane-2,2'- or 2,3'-(5'-ethylidene- norbornane)]. USE:They are used as a synthetic intermediate of various kinds of chemicals and they themselves are used as a component of perfumes and utilized in deodorants. PREPARATION:The reaction between an alkenyl or alkylidenenorbornane of formula II and an alpha-halogenocarboxylic ester of formula III in the presence of a strong base such as potassium tert. -butoxide is preferably started at -80-20 deg.C and effected at 20-150 deg.C to give the compound of formula I. |
