PURPOSE:To improve operability by providing input means for instructing an original insertion direction of every original. CONSTITUTION:An 'original insertion length' key and an 'original insertion width' key are provided. An operator assigns the insertion direction of the original by pushing either of these two keys before inserting the original into the machine in order to carry out copying in an automatic mode. Paper feeding is usually started by specifying the original size and selecting roll paper after the detection of the original length is over and, therefore, first copying delays, but the following process is also carried out in an exceptional case: For example, the assignment of the automatic mode is assumed to be original A2 paper A3, original A3 paper A4. If the width of the inserted original is supposed to be 420mm here, the original size is A2 length or A3 width, but the assigned paper size is A3 length or A4 width. Either case, the roll paper width is 297mm. The paper feeding is immediately started in this case and the cut length is set at 210mm or 420mm at the point of the time when the original length is known. The copying is then executed. |
