Apparatus for the manufacture of a non-woven textile product by displacement of fibres of a fibre layer such that regions of greater and lesser fibre density are formed, comprising a sieve or element for supporting the fibre layer and means for directing a stream of fluid onto this layer on the support sieve which has a coarseness such that the depths of the torughs corresponds to at leat three times the diameter of fibres of 1 - 15 denier. The support element or sieve is provided with discontinuous impermeable zones wholly surrounded by permeable zones, the dimensions of the former in the plane of the sieve being at least equal to twice the distance between the bottoms of adjacent troughs but such that at least one projection is present wit a trough on each side between the impermeable zones. |
