PURPOSE:To obtain a transmission body easily and to improve curvature characteristics by elongating a metallic tube, covering an outer circumference, while reducing the diameter, by gradually increasing the degree of covering in the lengthwise direction of the optical transmission body, and by interposing a cushion material at a prescribed position synchronizing with the covering. CONSTITUTION:While a cushion material 3 from a supplying machine 6 is run along the outer circumference of an optical fiber 1 unwound from a rotary drum 4, the optical fiber 1 is inserted into a metallic tube 2 supported by supporting tools 5a and 5b, the tip of the optical fiber 1 and the tip of the metallic tube are fixed relatively by an adequate means, and a lead wire 8 is anchored to a fixed part 7. Then, the wire 8 is passed through the 1st and 2nd dies 9a and 9b and connected to a rotary drum 10 to be wound by a motor, etc. Consequently, the cusion material 3 is provided on the outer circumference successively in contact, and the metallic tube 2 is reduced in diameter and elingated by the dies to be taken up around the drum 10 in the form of small-diameter optical fiber. Thus, a metal-sheath transmission body is manufactured easily. |
